A nominating committee comprised, in part, of over 900 peer therapists presented Dr. Whitfield with a lifetime achievement award for his role in improving the lives of others through his research, speaking, writing and participating as a therapist in the areas of addiction and childhood trauma recovery.
Nominating peers include members of the Metro Atlanta Therapists' Network (MATN), Prescott House, Cumberland Heights and Safe Harbor Treatment for Women
